Our mission at syniotec is clear: to develop digital solutions that really work on the construction site. That’s why we don’t just listen, we also test – directly with the people who use SAM every day.
Over the past few weeks, we have carried out a series of A/B tests with users from the construction industry. Various interface variants were compared with each other.
The result: valuable insights into what really matters in practice – and how we can make SAM even more intuitive, faster and clearer.
The result is a comprehensive update that is now live.
The 5 most important updates in SAM
1. new navigation: more space and faster orientation
The SAM interface has been completely redesigned – especially the navigation. Instead of a header, there is now a compact sidebar, which can also be collapsed if desired.
- More space for content
- Quick access to modules such as map, planner or settings
- Two view modes: icons or module names
- Logically grouped content: Projects, devices, personnel & co.

2. revised project profile: all information at a glance
Scheduling and project management need an overview – which is why the project profile has been restructured:
- Table view: Resources and requests directly visible
- Status bar: Shows at a glance what is checked in, open or assigned
- Filter & sort functions: Particularly helpful for large projects with many devices
- Project information & inquiries now combined in one interface

3. New request interface: Directly in the project, without detours
Instead of jumping between several windows, requests can now be made directly in the project compact, fast and without media discontinuity.
- Structured input mask with pre-filling
- Map integration for delivery locations
- Option: Add to collective request or submit directly
- Significant time savings for dispatchers and foremen

4. Column requests: better planning, easier creation
The column planning has also been fundamentally revised – with a new dialog directly in the project context.
- Column type selectable (e.g. road construction, track construction)
- Equipment & personnel requirements can be combined
- Drop-down selection for qualifications
- Map section for address assignment
- Collective requests now visible in the column module
5. Everything in one place: project information and inquiries combined
The project and request now form a uniform interface – for less back and forth and more transparency.
- Same status for all roles (foreman, scheduler, project management)
- Role-specific authorizations for clear responsibilities
- Status history & participants immediately visible
What we have learned: Practice beats theory
The A/B tests have shown: Clarity, speed and reduction to the essentials are crucial. For many users, it was particularly important that:
- all important information is visible at a glance
- as few clicks or changes as possible
- an intuitive logic determines the navigation
This is exactly what we have geared the current update towards. And the best thing is: we are constantly developing – together with the industry.
Our promise: We listen
This update is the result of numerous discussions with dispatchers, foremen, site managers and project managers. Our goal remains: SAM so that you can work faster, easier and more digitally.
