Use Case I: AI-supported handover protocols

In addition to RAM, there is also the RAM app, which we have developed to optimise the handover process for construction equipment. With the help of integrated artificial intelligence, our application analyses photos of displays to accurately read tank levels and operating hours. In addition, the AI assesses the degree of soiling and detects potential damage, which not only saves time but also minimises sources of error. The precise recording of operating hours directly from the speedometer display is a milestone in creating significant added value for construction machinery rental companies. With our AI-supported handover protocols, we automate key processes and thus offer an efficient solution for the construction machinery industry.

During maintenance work, service technicians often document important information by photographing the machine’s type plate. However, manually entering this data into the internal system is time-consuming and error-prone. We have developed a prototype for automated recording using artificial intelligence. Our goal is to speed up the service processes and ensure the quality assurance of the captured data. The AI reads data such as model type, manufacturer, product identification number, total weight, year of manufacture and total output from the type plate to enable precise data capture.

Our app solution enables drivers to take photos of the type plate, display and petrol pump, which are then analysed by an AI. This ensures complete documentation of the individual refuelling of each construction machine. This method offers a reliable and transparent way of tracking the refuelling of construction machinery and ensures that all data is properly recorded and documented. At the same time, it offers the possibility of documenting the CO2 emissions of each machine.
