Kurt König Baumaschinen GmbH has been a strong partner for construction and trade since it was founded in 1932. With 11 locations, the construction machinery dealership has a strong presence throughout Germany. With a machine fleet of over 3,500 devices, it was clear that they needed to be digitized and managed across all locations in order to minimize the workload and ensure transparency in day-to-day operations.
What were the challenges?

Innovative partnership between syniotec and Kurt König
The contact between syniotec and Kurt König Baumaschinen GmbH was established back in 2018. Together, the two players from the construction industry have set themselves the task of planning resources better, reducing costs and optimizing operational processes.
Since 2022, the telematics system specially developed by syniotec has been installed in the fleets at all locations. Live GPS positioning offers a number of advantages.
In addition to the automatic billing of operating hours in rental, theft protection is also becoming increasingly important for our partners. Reliable and secure data transmission from the machine’s GPS tracking devices to syniotec’s software takes place via GPRS data transmission over the mobile phone network. In addition to the theft alarm, there are other advantages. All relevant technical data such as operating hours per project, maintenance intervals and persons responsible for the machine can be viewed centrally from one location. Both the software and syniotec’s IoT portfolio are continuously being developed in close cooperation with the construction companies.
This close collaboration has resulted in the new IoT device “LINK”. LINK uses LTE-M and NB-IoT technologies to transmit information.
The latest tracking unit from syniotec measures data such as operating hours or live location without being connected to a power source. This makes LINK ideal for medium-sized construction equipment that does not have its own power supply.
Almost 70% of the Kurt König fleet is now equipped with syniotec’s IoT technology – and the trend is rising. Thanks to telematics, a theft was recently solved and the stolen goods recovered. Kurt König Baumaschinen GmbH knows that the syniotec team impresses with its digital expertise and in-depth understanding of the industry. In this way, completely new ideas are becoming a natural part of the construction industry.
