Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus König visits syniotec

The digitization expert Prof. Dr. König has headed the Chair of Computer Science in Civil Engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2009. With this experience, his network and his two-year relationship with syniotec, it was time for another visit to Bremen.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus König is a true digitalization expert in the construction industry. He not only heads the Chair of Computer Science in Construction at the Ruhr University in Bochum, but is also active in numerous associations, organizations and projects. As deputy head of the national center for digitalization in the construction industry, he has been intensively involved in the so-called Building Information Modeling, or BIM for short, and is significantly involved in its implementation in Germany.

In-depth exchange about syniotec solutions

There were several good reasons for the visit: A closer look at SAM revealed a great many interfaces and overlaps with the things that Prof. Dr.-Ing. König has been advocating for years. The networking of processes at construction companies, the early pre-planning of equipment resources and holistic logistics concepts for the construction process are just some of the topics on the agenda. With interfaces to a wide range of providers, syniotec is committed to precisely these topics with its in-house solutions. After networking machines and personnel, the next step is to document the construction progress. Because here too, data is recorded multiple times in many places and the right connections or collaborations are often still missing.

Shaping the future of the construction industry

“The digitalization of the construction industry is essential for its progress. syniotec is making a decisive contribution to this,” says Prof. Dr.-Ing. “Progress can only be made through practical and close exchange.” And that is exactly what syniotec has been doing since the beginning: Always close to the users, feedback is constantly sought in order to implement new functions and thus develop ever more comprehensive software for construction companies. syniotec’s aim is to combine decades of construction industry expertise with its own know-how to drive digitalization in the construction industry. “It sounds simple, but it’s not always that simple,” laughs syniotec CFO Arne Stehnken. “But we’re sticking with it. The feedback from the industry confirms that we should continue in the same way.” Mr. König also concludes: “This is exactly what the future of the construction industry looks like.”
