For syniotec, it was clear from the outset that we wanted to develop solutions by, with and for the construction industry. That is why the process is never one-sided. This means that the process never goes purely from the service provider to the end user, but we pass the balls to each other in order to get as much feedback as possible. This ultimately enables us to develop a personalized solution for a very specific problem.
The new design of our IoT devices was developed with these points in mind.
Functionally, we have concentrated on the following points:
- the longest possible battery life,
- high robustness,
- a reliable connection through a holistic telematics ecosystem,
- a simple and simplified installation process.

But does all this mean that there can’t be another focus in addition to functionality?
To what extent does the aesthetic design contribute to the value of the device?
Rezi, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of syniotec, who is responsible for the development of our IoT devices, explains that our process starts with ensuring a functional and reliable product. We achieve this by always working closely with those seeking solutions. The next step is to make aesthetic design decisions that add value to the device without compromising its functionality.
To achieve this, we have teamed up with Designlab Vioki GmbH. In addition to our rebranding, we have jointly revised our IoT portfolio. As experts in the construction industry, our first point of contact at vioki was industrial designer Thomas Ritschel. Thanks to his expertise and with our brand identity in mind, the new designs were created.
Can function and aesthetics coexist?
Good aesthetics can and will be a positive factor if it is done right. The seamless design of our IoT fits almost anywhere on the machines without getting in the way. At the same time, its simple and clean, yet reliable and robust design reflects our brand values and what we stand for.
We want to see functionality and aesthetics less as two competing factors. For us, these are two elements that work together harmoniously and improve both functionality and the user experience. This gives the product even greater added value overall.
